Cancer Charity Tour de France – Autumn 2006
A solo endurance ride by Robin undertaken over 30 days in September/October 2006 for cancer charities in France, the UK and USA.
Route – the 2,261 miles (3,639 kilometres) of the 2006 Tour de France course to include the mountain stages in the Pyrenees and Alpes. The route also took in stages in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain.

Bike – Focus Cayo monocoque carbon fibre with Shimano Ultegra 10-speed groupset and FSA compact chainset. Lightweight Easton Ascent II wheelset and Vittoria Rubino Pro tyres. Possibly the most important item concerning comfort was the Selle Italia Filante saddle.

Brief ride resume – Overall average speed 25.23 kph (target 25kph), with the best daily average being 30.2 kph on Stage 5 Beauvais to Caen.
